Love is in the air again as Valentine’s day approaches. There were many movies that were based on best-selling romance novels.
1) P.S. I Love You
Holly was married to the love of her life- Gerry. However, Gerry passed away due to an illness and his passing took the life out of her. The plot twist occurs as Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters before his death. The letters which were all signed off P.S I Love You slowly guided Holly out of her grief and pushed her into finding a new future for her own.
A good movie about the interpretation of companionship, love, and life.
2) Me Before You
A heart-warming movie about a caretaker (played by Emilia Clarke) and her patient (played by Sam Claflin), a wealthy banker who was paralyzed neck down due to an accident. The film adaption explores the meaning of love, life, and the people that cross-path along the way.
3) The Twilight Series
The Twilight series focuses on the dangerous romance between a human girl, a mysterious vampire, and a werewolf. The movie series explores the meaning of love, sacrifices, and the importance of the community.
4) Bridget Jones’s Diary Series
Bridget Jones was an ordinary woman who struggled with her age, job, love life, and many other imperfections. She decided to take control of her life by starting to keep a diary that focuses on the things she wanted to happen in her life. Things started to change as her boss started to be attracted to the quirky Miss Jones. This romantic comedy film was so popular that it formed part of the English pop culture.5) Pride and Prejudice
Adapted from the classic novel written by Jane Austen in 1813, this romantic drama film earned four nominations at the 78th Academy Awards. The movie features the five sisters from the English countryside. The outspoken Elizabeth faced pressure from her parents to marry a preacher in order to keep the rights over their land. Meantime, she was introduced to Mr. Darcy, a wealthy aristocratic landowner who was accompanying his friend to spend a holiday at the countryside. Sparks fly yet Mr. Darcy’s reserved nature and Elizabeth’s prejudice threatens their relationship.
