For Che Saad Nordin, he’s not just pursuing his cycling passion for fun. Instead, the former journalist is known for kickstarting a tradition unlike any other, which enters its nine year now.
Dubbed the Peninsular Malaysia Merdeka Cycling Expedition, Che Saad has been embarking on a cycling journey as a way to commemorate Merdeka.

Despite his age, his vigorous dedication has garnered respect and attention by the public, motivated by his intention of spreading the spirit of patriotism amongst the younger generation.
This year, he took off from Padang Serai (Kedah) on August 2, and hopes to conclude on September 16 in Perlis.
Besides aiming to pedal for 2,300KM, he also plans to hand out at least 100 Jalur Gemilang flags to schoolchildren in each state along the ride.
