The opposite of more is enough. Minimalism is creating meaningful things with little pieces of stuff. Today I am going to share a few tips with you to design a minimalist room. Makeover your room doesn't mean that you have to spend a lot and break your budget. Here are some easy ways to give your room a fresh look within RM500!

The very first step to makeover your room is spring-cleaning.

Yes, throw away all unnecessary things, and move out all the furniture in the room. Clear out space in your room because you are going to transform the room.

1. The Wall

Let's start with the wall first, get a removable wallpaper from Taobao.

Normally the size of each wallpaper is 0.6m*5m, it costs RM9.

I'll suggest nude or skin color for the wall, it's soothing and looks warm. Let's say it's a 10 x 10 room, probably you'll need 3 rolls of wallpapers for each wall, which cost you about RM100.

2. The Bed

The next thing, the focal point of the bedroom -- the bed! I know you are thinking which bedframe to buy but let's go frameless!

It's okay to put your bed on the floor and it costs you nothing. Buy a plain white fitted sheet (around RM30), pillowcases (RM30 for 2) and a duvet cover (RM20 ~ RM30) which looks nice even if you don't make up your bed. Get these from IKEA, they're really affordable and worthy.

3. Clothes Rack

If you want to keep your wardrobe, it's fine. But if you don't, I would recommend you to buy a clothes rack (RM30) and the organizer boxes (RM40) from IKEA.

A clothing rack is less pricey and it could be a decorative piece in the room.

4. Table

A simple working area is necessary for the room. How about making your dressing table and working table together?

Find a clean white desk (RM75 ~ RM95) and pair it with a curvy chair (RM38). Add an extra table mirror (RM33) on the table and it'll become a multifunctional table. Look for the IKEA desk organizer (RM25) if you need it.

5. Fairy String Light

You might need lighting to enhance the decor in your room. Instead of buying a floor lamp, you can consider fairy string light from KAISON store (RM16/1.5M). 3M to 5M should be enough. It's romantic and able to match any style of rooms.

Budgeting is not about limiting. Try to makeover your room now!
