A 13 year old boy in Terengganu has tragically died whilst trying to save his younger brother from drowning. The incident happened in Sungai Seluang, Paya Resak, Marang.
Prior to the incident, the victim, Muhammad Danish Daniel Adnan, 13, along with his younger brother Muhammad Danish Irfan, 7, and his sister, Fatimah, 17, were fishing in the river near their house at around 4.15 PM.
The victim's mother, Suhaini Wahab, 36, said that while the children were fishing, Muhammad Danish Irfan was said to have slipped while playing along the bank before falling into the river. Panicked, Muhammad Danish Daniel then jumped into the river in an attempt to save his brother. However, he was quick to be swallowed by the water before completely disappearing from the surface.

Traumatised by what she had seen, the victim's sister, Fatimah, 17, who was also at the scene at the time, rushed to return home to tell her family about the incident. Their grandfather, Wahab Yusof, 63, immediately ran to the scene before jumping to save his grandson. By the time the fire and rescue team arrived, it was already too late.
According to the grandfather, Mohammad Danish Daniel is to be buried as soon as the autopsy is complete. The Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tun Telanai student was only 13 year old when he passed.
