Recently, a Malaysian Siamese content producer who is well-known for entertainingly teaching Thai language in Bahasa Melayu on TikTok took to the site to address a query or remark she was receiving on each video she uploaded: "You speak Bahasa Melayu so well."
The content creator, Kanittha, also known as Nita, replied to a guy who had expressed amazement at her flawless command of Bahasa Melayu in one of her TikTok videos.
"I'm a Malaysian Siamese, I went to school at an SMK" she said.
Nita made it clear in the video that she is a Malaysian Siamese, who shares nearly all of the country's customs, and is not from Thailand. Nita mentioned that she attended Malaysia's national secondary school, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK).
She went on to say that Malaysian Siamese people are not originally from Thailand. They belong to the Bumiputera group and are citizens of Malaysia.
Nita then jokingly said that many Malaysians would doubt her announcement and would question her about whether or not she had an identity card to support it. In response, she simply invited internet users to Google the Siamese people of Malaysia.
According to World Of Buzz, the video has received more than 22,000 likes and over 716,700 views as of the time of writing.
