Storing or preparing food is an important part within a kitchen. Making sure that undertaking is done in accordance to health and safety regulations is undoubtably essential during that process. However, some may find homemade solutions that may not be as sanitary as the public may desire.
A post on X has recently come under controversy as the viral post showcased a local trader who is shown using a trash can to soak his goods, which unsurprisingly drew massive criticism from the public.
In the post, user @heyizwanizzat made his concerns known over mans lack of safety on using the bins to store food.
"He uses a trash can to soak squid to cook and sell. Many people have reprimanded but the answer is, because many people do that, it's not a problem."
"I was quite angry with his answer, especially in the chapter on preparing food like this. @KKMPutrajaya do your job."
Soon after the post went viral, the trader then came forward and took to a TikTok video to explain the reason over why he used the trash can in such manner.
"Soak octopus using a trash can, huh? I didn't even know it was a trash can because there wasn't anything written on it."
"I just use it because many others also use the tub to fill with water for bathing. For me, there is no problem with the coat if it feels dirty, not clean."
"It's okay if you think like that because I didn't fill the bin with garbage," he tried to explain.
However, the public were unconvinced with his confusion over the usage of the bin and demanded that KKM Putrajaya take swift action against the trader. Thankfully, they heard the outcry and stated on their X page that an investigation will be taken against him.
