A woman at VivoCity, Singapore was left shaking her head in disbelief after witnessing a mother calmly changing her child's diaper in the middle of a food court.
According to Mothership, the incident occurred on 29 November around 7:30pm at the Kopitiam food court in VivoCity.
A patron, Charminn Ngiam, recounted her shock upon seeing the mother openly change her young son's diaper at the dining table.
She described how the woman used wet wipes to clean the child's bottom and even spread the area wide open to ensure it was thoroughly cleaned – all in full view of other diners enjoying their meals.
Unable to bear the disgust, she reported the incident to a food court vendor, who called the manager.
By the time the manager arrived to issue a warning, the mother had already finished cleaning her child.
Shockingly, Charminn claimed the mother didn't wash her hands, and the smell of the faeces spread, upsetting other patrons.
She explained she didn't confront the mother herself, leaving it to the mall's management.
The incident, shared in the Facebook group Complain Singapore, outraged citizens, with many criticising the mother's unhygienic actions.
Some, however, defended her, nothing the nearest restroom was 100 meters away or on another floor.
