Remember the anti-sex beds the Olympic administrators so thoughtfully designed for the Tokyo 2020‘s Olympians? Well, according to a former German Olympian Susen Tiedtke, any measures to prevent fornication among the athletes in the Olympic Village almost never meet their goals.
Tiedtke also mentioned that every Olympic Village will, inevitably, be crowded with athletes; all of whom are at their physical peak during the event. These athletes are bound to release that pent-up energy in one way or the other. She claimed, “Sex is always an issue at the village." and that it is often when the competition is wrapping up that the "energy exchange" starts.
There were times when she could hardly sleep due to the "activities", recalls the former Olympian. Roommates in the Olympic Village can be understanding too: they'd gladly leave the room if certain physical activity is about to commence. Olympians are known to have celebratory post-Olympic parties, which are often treated as one big short-lived dating pool.
Of course, that was before the Covid-19 pandemic reared its ugly head. Will this year's Olympics emulate the previous Olympic Village's tradition? We'll just wait and see.
