Malaysian rapper Sharifah Zamaera Syed Zafilen Al Edros, popularly known as Zamaera, is demanding an apology from a Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) officer who allegedly filmed her without consent while she was having a massage at a parlour in SS14. She has also called on MBSJ to issue a public statement outlining their standard operating procedures (SOP) for such operations, emphasizing that such actions should not be condoned.
In a detailed Instagram post, Zamaera recounted the incident that allegedly took place on Wednesday (4 December). She claimed that one of the officers filmed her while she was naked from behind, lying on her stomach with only a towel partially covering her body. She noticed the light from behind and saw a man in sunglasses peeking through the curtains with a mobile phone.
Zamaera explained that she quickly covered herself and confronted the individuals present, who identified themselves as MBSJ officers. According to her, the group included both uniformed and plainclothes officers. When she questioned them about the filming, one officer denied the incident, claiming it was part of their SOP for conducting raids to check for illegal activities.
The rapper added that the officer showed her a video allegedly recorded during the raid. To her shock, the footage included another female customer, also naked from behind, receiving a massage in a different room.
Zamaera expressed her disgust over the officers' behavior, stating, "I feel that my privacy has been violated. I do not feel safe as a woman." She has since lodged a police report and filed a formal complaint with MBSJ against the officers involved.
Zamaera also revealed that she was scheduled to meet with MBSJ to discuss the matter further. However, at press time, MBSJ has not responded to requests for comments.
