US President Donald Trump on Thursday (Apr 30) claimed he had seen proof that the killer virus originated from a Wuhan lab, but refused to provide more details.
“We have people looking at it very, very strongly. Scientific people, intelligence people, and others. We’re going to put it all together. I think we will have a very good answer eventually. And China might even tell us,” he said at a White House event on Thursday.
When he was asked to explain what evidence he had seen, Trump did not give any specific details.
“I can’t tell you that. I’m not allowed to tell you that.”

Despite Trump’s unproven theory, US intelligence agencies have also concluded that the virus was “not manmade or genetically modified”.
In a statement, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) of the US wrote, “The Intelligence Community also concurs with the wide scientific consensus that the COVID-19 virus was not manmade or genetically modified,” adding that it will continue to investigate the origin of the outbreak.
