Finally, Malaysians will be given a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine! From early October onwards, high-risk groups such as frontliners and senior citizens will receive booster shots.
The list includes people who are immune-compromised, the elderly with comorbidities & residents as well as workers at long-term health facilities as well.
This dose is believed to boost their protection. The doses will be implemented after 80% of the country's population has been fully vaccinated, according to Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
Until the 18th of September, 78.2% of the adult population has been fully vaccinated!
Right now, guidelines for booster shots are being developed by a panel of medical experts. More details will be announced in due time.
