Based on reports, the department of social welfare (JKM) is currently in the search of a woman who abandoned her down syndrome baby with severe kidney issues at Sultan Ismail Hospital.

The baby (Athar Jazmi) is currenly relying on an oxygen machine to breathe due to breathing problems and kidney issues. The district social welfare officer for Johor Bahru, Norhafizah Ahmad reported that the mother last visited the baby on Aug 27, but never came back after.

The 42yo woman who is a Filipino, has been suspected to have used fraud identification documents when registering her child at the hospital.

Investigations also have also revealed that the woman has 4 other children who are unregistered in the country.

JKM is still on the search for the mother. Anyone with information has been asked to contact JKM District Johor Bahru Protection Officer Jamalluddin Hassan at 07-2232606 or 07-2232607.
