Two Rohingyan children have been caught redhanded on camera, both believed to have stolen a mobile phone. The incident was uploaded on TikTok by a user named @I_AM_FAIZZZ, in which he managed to catch the minor culprits with the help of his friends.
Based on the information gathered from the video, the incident happened at Tembok Bagan Ajam, Butterworth at around 10 PM. One of the children wanted to borrow a mobile phone from a security guard, who happened to be on duty at the Jalan Pantai Bersih Food Court.
The security guard then left for the restroom after giving one of the children his mobile phone and when he came back, he found that both the children had fled. Fortunately for the security guard, the children were arrested shortly after behind the Bagan Ajam Mosque.
No police reports were lodged against the children, and the TikTok owner along with his friends eventually took the children back to their parent's house. The mobile phone has also been handed back to the security guard.
Even though no police reports were made, the police did release an official statement regarding the incident.
Through the official statement, the public is reminded not to cause any public annoyance through any attempts of manipulation using the video, or not to raise any sensitive sentiments in order to maintain public peace.
