In a heartwarming and challenging journey, this group of friends (@joannechaw, @chewchuiling and @sabbiegirl) have gone above and beyond to rescue and foster two homeless puppies just two weeks ago.
Spotting a security guard attempting to dispose of gunny sacks containing the puppies, they immediately intervened and took the bags away from them. To her dismay, they discovered that the innocent creatures, estimated to be around two months old, had likely experienced abuse.
Acting swiftly, they fostered the puppies while they figured out their next steps. Little did they know that their journey would be filled with challenges and valuable life lessons.
The puppies, traumatized by their past mistreatment, struggled with trust issues. They would cower in fear, refusing to interact with humans and resorting to hiding when approached.
Despite their efforts to provide a safe and loving environment, they faced numerous complaints from neighbours about the puppies' whining at night. Sadly, some people failed to understand the dire situation these pups had been rescued from and were unsympathetic to their plight.
Finding fosterers for these puppies proved to be a challenge as well. With limited available spaces and an overwhelming number of helpless dogs in need of care, it is crucial for pet owners to spay or neuter their pets to prevent the overpopulation of stray animals.
Due to the complaints from neighbours, the friends had to make the difficult decision to place the puppies in a pet boarding facility. The cost of boarding both pups amounts to RM400 each, and they have already paid for the first month. However, an unexpected turn of events occurred when the boarding facility they had booked was being evicted.
Thankfully, they managed to retrieve their funds and found a compassionate guardian, Aunty Aileen from @mypetshaven, who agreed to take in the puppies despite her facility being full.
The friends express their relief at finding a temporary solution for the puppies' care and believe that Aunty Aileen's expertise and dedication will increase their chances of finding loving forever homes. They hope that both Cookie and Chocolate can be adopted together, considering their strong bond, although they acknowledge that it may not be easy to find such a placement.
In their heartfelt message, they thank everyone who has supported their rescue efforts and ask for continued help in funding the puppies' ongoing care, including spaying and further vaccinations. The friends hope that by spreading the word, kind-hearted families actively seeking to adopt puppies will consider giving these two adorable pups a loving home.
