A 26-second video of a heated altercation between two men at a food court in Puchong has gone viral, generating widespread attention and concern online. The footage, captured by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera, shows a man dressed in a white round-neck T-shirt engaged in a confrontation, while a woman is seen trying to calm the situation.
In a second video from a different angle, the same man appears to lift his arms, revealing what seems to be a firearm tucked into his waistband, raising alarm among viewers.
The video, along with several messages, circulated through a whistleblower Telegram group, suggesting that the incident occurred several days ago. According to claims made in these messages, the argument began when the man was confronted by the food court manager for smoking in the premises, which likely violated the establishment's no-smoking policy.
Reports allege that the man, in retaliation, threatened the manager and boasted of being "untouchable." It is further claimed that he pointed the firearm at the manager's stomach during the altercation, though this critical moment was not captured on CCTV.
When contacted by the New Straits Times, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that no formal report had been lodged regarding the incident. He urged witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward, highlighting the importance of reporting such confrontations to the authorities.
Members of the public who have details about the incident are encouraged to contact the Selangor police hotline at 03-2052 9999 or visit the nearest police station to assist in the investigation.
This incident has sparked concern about public safety and the potential for dangerous individuals to carry firearms in public spaces. As authorities await further information, the incident serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and responsible behavior in public settings.
