A couple of days ago (Nov 10), a netizen took to Twitter about how a Palestinian friend and his dad, was extorted for money by an officer of the Malaysian police force.
According to the user, there was a police block at Jalan Gombak, Kuala Lumpur and the pair was stopped and asked for their passports. The father unfortunately, did not have his passport on him, but did have his immigration card.
After producing it, he informed the officer that he could have his brother over as soon as possible, with all the necessary documentation, if needed.
However, to his dismay, the officer turned him down, and instead asked for money, which he successfully attained (RM400).
They were not able to get the name or picture of the officer, but the son voice recorded the whole scene. Due to the fact that they were foreigners, the officer was also stated to be rather rude in nature.
Based on the voice notes, the officer signed the word 'money', asked them to place it inside the son's passport, and then apparently laughed after upon seeing it.
Since then, the user's tweet has already garnered over 9.9k retweets and 11.3k likes.
