Recently, a photo went viral showing former Malaysian Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin, posing with the 8th Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, leading to speculations that Khairy Jamaluddin might join the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
But it was reported that the former UMNO Youth Chief will not be joining any political party or forming a new party in the near future, according to a close source from PN.
The source stated that Khairy Jamaluddin (KJ) is ready to collaborate with PN in the upcoming state election. "KJ has stated that he will not join BERSATU or any political party at the moment or establish a new party."
"He is willing to help mobilize public support in our (PN) campaign for the upcoming state election." However, there has been no response from KJ regarding this issue.
The Chief Information Officer of BERSATU, Datuk Razali Idris, confirmed that the meeting between Muhyiddin and Khairy took place at Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's residence in Bukit Damansara, but did not disclose further details as he was not present at the meeting.
It is worth noting that in May, the Chairman of PN extended an offer to KJ to become a Senior Party Leader in BERSATU after receiving approval from other party leaders.
Muhyiddin was reported saying that his party has two vacant leadership positions, without any intention of "luring" the former Member of Parliament for Rembau.
