A Facebook user has shared a distressing account of a hit-and-run incident involving a food delivery rider that occurred in Penang on the evening of July 20th. The incident took place at McDonalds located at Lot 4B, 4C & 4D, Desa Universiti, Jalan Sg. Dua, Gelugor, George Town, around 8 PM.

According to the Facebook post, the user's sister, accompanied by her baby and an 8-year-old child, had just finished dinner and was leaving the Mcdonald's premises. The family was attempting to cross the parking area when a food delivery rider, driving in the wrong direction at high speed, collided with the child.

The child sustained injuries to the legs, arms, and most severely, the mouth. A medical examination at Penang Adventist Hospital revealed that the childs teeth were shattered into small pieces embedded in the lips, necessitating surgery to remove the fragments and stitch the wounds.

The rider, after hitting the child, reportedly told the childs mother that he was in a hurry to deliver an order and asked her to wait at the scene before fleeing. Despite waiting for a long time, the rider did not return, prompting the family to rush the injured child to the hospital.

The Facebook post has since gone viral, with the family demanding an apology and urging the food delivery service company to investigate the incident. They have called on the company to review their drivers' adherence to traffic laws and ethical behavior. The post also highlighted the potential dangers of reckless driving and appealed to all drivers to avoid driving in the wrong direction to prevent such accidents.

The food delivery service company has yet to issue a public statement regarding the incident. The family hopes that by sharing their story, they can raise awareness about the importance of road safety and hold the responsible parties accountable.

This story was taken from a Facebook post by the victims relative, who detailed the harrowing experience and called for action from the food delivery service company.
