Believing that cancer is not a "ticket" to death, 35-year-old Mohd Zaki Yamani Azman, a former Stage 3 Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL) patient, embarked on a solo kayaking expedition, covering a remarkable 475 kilometers along the Tembeling and Pahang rivers.

@zaki_bijak Satu ja yang saya mintak doakan Allah permudahkan segala urusan saya dunia akhirat dan Allah bagi kesembuhan buat semua sahabat seperjuangan saya dan semoga setiap perjaanan ini menjadi asbab hidayat buat ummat seluruh alam.. bismillah.. #ZakiBijak #MuhasabahDiri #cancerfightermalaysia #cancerbukantiketuntukamati #zakibijakoutdoor #tourguide #natureguide #privateguide #guidegua #guideguakotagelanggi #kakioutdoor #indooractivity #outdoor #outdooractive #backpakers #solotravel #traveller #hitch#backpack #guakotagelanggi #pulautawar #trending #jerantutpahang #jerantut #Pahang #solokayaksungaipahang #solokayak #misisolo #cancerawareners #hodhkinglymphoma #stage3 #merdeka #harimerdeka #bulankemerdekaan #ogos2024 #kualasat #sungaipahang #padle #decatlon #itiwit #hypergear #mydin #karrimor #cancerfighter #cancersurvivor #cancerday #cancerawareness #motivation #inspiration #fyp #fypシ゚viral #fypシ original sound - Zaki Bijak

Mohd Zaki, who began his journey on August 8, stated that his mission was to inspire cancer patients across the nation to stay strong and continue fighting for their lives. He emphasized that his goal is to raise awareness and encourage both the general public and cancer patients to persist in their battle, rather than succumb to despair.

This solo expedition also coincides with World Cancer Day in February and Malaysia's Independence Month in August. Remarkably, this year marks the 10th anniversary of his cancer treatment, which began in July 2014. Mohd Zaki received treatment at the National Cancer Institute three times and has since become active in promoting cancer awareness on social media.

The youngest of five siblings, Mohd Zaki is no stranger to challenging solo adventures. He previously undertook a solo tour of Borneo with just RM1 in his pocket and hitchhiked across Peninsular Malaysia. This time, his goal was to kayak solo from Ulu Tembeling, Jerantut, to the royal town of Pekan.

@zaki_bijak Ade kesempatan share saya share.. Salam Jumaat.. Hari ke 2 dari Kampung Pagi ke Kuala Tahan 5 jam perjalanan 7 jeram ternama tapi tadi ade orang cakap 10 jeram semua.. #ZakiBijak #MuhasabahDiri #cancerfightermalaysia #cancerbukantiketuntukamati #zakibijakoutdoor #tourguide #natureguide #privateguide #guidegua #guideguakotagelanggi #kakioutdoor #indooractivity #outdoor #outdooractive #backpakers #solotravel #traveller #hitch#backpack #guakotagelanggi #pulautawar #trending #jerantutpahang #jerantut #Pahang #solokayaksungaipahang #solokayak #misisolo #cancerawareners #hodhkinglymphoma #stage3 #merdeka #harimerdeka #bulankemerdekaan #ogos2024 #kualasat #sungaipahang #padle #decatlon #itiwit original sound - Zaki Bijak

Throughout his solo mission, the Pahang native from Bukit Rang, Pulau Tawar, Jerantut, expressed gratitude for the support and assistance he received from locals at various stopovers along the Pahang River.

Doakan Allah permudahkan perjalanan saya insyaAllah aminn.. #ZakiBijak #MuhasabahDiri #cancerfightermalaysia #cancerbukantiketuntukamati #solokayaksungaipahang #solokayak #misisolo #cancerawareners #merdeka #zakibijakoutdoor #kakioutdoor #outdoor #traveller #pulautawar #trending #jerantutpahang #jerantut #Pahang #insperation #inspiriasi #harimerdeka #bulankemerdekaan #ogos2024 #sungaipahang #decatlon #pajing #kampungpejing suara asli - M Hidayat Putra

"There were definitely challenges, such as scorching heat, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and unpredictable river currents," he shared. "When the water was calm, I could paddle for up to three hours without stopping. However, shallow areas slowed me down, and I had to pause if I encountered heavy rain or storms."

Despite the obstacles, Mohd Zaki remains optimistic about completing his mission within two weeks and hopes everything goes smoothly. His expedition has garnered sponsorship from various parties, all contributing to the success of his inspiring journey.
