A 47-year-old mentally disabled man was subjected to a public assault in Terengganu, after he crashed his motorcycle into a food stall.
The accident caused several food and cooking appliances to topple onto the ground, whereas the man lied in agony.
Witnesses reported that he then stood up and made confrontational remarks towards the onlookers, to which one point he was heard shouting “I’ll pay, I’ll pay”, in referring to the damages made.
Triggered by his act, several individuals then proceeded to drag him away, before beating him in anger.
As he sat helplessly on the ground after the assault, he retorted, “It’s okay, there is a God”, and a woman replied, “Now you remember there’s a God”.
Merely moments later, however, he was kicked in the face by another individual.
The shocking incident quickly made rounds to authorities, and an investigation is underway.
While the man was thought to have provoked the crowd, many social media users argued that assaulting him was beyond unacceptable- considering he holds an OKU card.
