After a week of mass protests, a lot of looting, rioting, and violent conflicts have caused many people arrested. Demonstrators set fire on cars and buildings, the city and the country have seemed to be in a mess.
The protests began after George Floyd died shortly after Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than 5 minutes during an arrest on May 26.
On June 2, George Floyd's brother, Terrence Floyd showed up at the spot where George Floyd died and called for a peaceful protest. He was so emotional and knelt down to cry in prayer.
According to NBC News, Terrence Floyd said, "If I’m not over here wilin’ out, if I’m not over here blowing up stuff, if I’m not over here messing up my community — then what are y’all doing? Nothing, because that’s not going to bring my brother back at all."

He led the crowd with the chants, "Peace on the left, justice on the right," as if to say the two must go hand in hand.
"So let’s do this another way," he said. "Let’s stop thinking that our voice doesn’t matter and vote…because it’s a lot of us and we still going to do this peacefully.”
He thanked the crowd for the support as well as to implore people to continue the fight for justice in a peaceful way. All lives matter, use your privilege to help and inspire.
