We love a good comparison list, at least we get to see where our country is at, you know?
Based on reports, the latest one is richest countries in Asia, and yes, Malaysia is in that list!
On March 14, Seasia Stats released their Top 30 Richest Countries In Asia list and Malaysia stands at #15, with a total of RM174,382.81 purchasing power parity (PPP) per capita in 2023.
It is beyond doubt, Singapore ranked #1 with RM625,940.37, followed by Qatar, Macao, UAE, Hong Kong and Brunei.
Malaysia unfortunately did not make the cut to the top 10, but did surpass neighbouring countries Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The numbers were measured by dividing the countries’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by population. Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) was also used as it calculates values in international dollars, while taking into account inflation and local prices.
Congrats Malaysia! Here’s to hoping for better numbers next year.
