So we woke up one day and suddenly there's such a thing called NFTs and people seem to be earning millions from it! What is this multi-millionaire market and are Malaysians even earning anything on it? 

Well, NFT stands for Non-Fungible Tokens. An NFT is essentially a digital asset that represents a real-world object like an art piece, music, your personalised in-game avatars, videos and more. 

In the past few months, several local artists have been making international headlines for their exceptional artwork. Here are some local NFT artists that you should definitely follow: 

Munira Hamzah

Also known as Mumu the stan, this Malaysian is a homegrown visual artist and poet who ventured into the NFT world with her pixel art. She also does visual illustrations on her other profile called Moon HMZ. Here are some of her artwork: 

Katun

Abdul Hafiz Abdul Rahman who is better known as Katun is a local graffiti artist that rose to fame after he made over RM1.6 million overnight for selling NFT collections in 24 hours. Catch a glimpse of his unique artwork which mainly consists of apes here:

Also known as Red, this Sabahan artist went viral after creating a Doge banknote NFT which is basically a Chinese Yuan featuring the dogecoin for her NFT Memebank Banknotes series. This proud Penangite is definitely one of a kind. He combines photography and Photoshop to create art pieces that are so creative some of them almost seem like an optical illusion.
