As King Charless III and the Queen Consort prepare to relocate to the Buckingham Palace following Her Majesty's passing, the royal staff over at Clarence House are instead met with devastating news.
The lay-off list includes those from the finance office, communications team, private secretaries and household staff.
The shocking news was revealed during the Queen's thanksgiving service on Monday, which generated unpleasant reactions as most of the staff have been serving at the Clarence House for decades. They've also been working around the clock in aiding the King's transition to the throne since last Thursday.
Following the notice, the effected staff are set to be offered enhanced redundancy payment, including getting help in finding new jobs or even securing alternative roles in other royal households.
