She highlighted that there are deaf students in Johor Bahru who have potential in academics and extracurricular activities. However, after completing the UPSR (Primary School Evaluation Test) or Form 6, they have no avenue to take the SPM (Malaysian Certificate of Education) in Johor Bahru.
"Many deaf students in Johor Bahru have potential. Parents have to send these promising children to Penang because there is only one school there that allows these students to take the SPM. The SPM channel there is the same as for normal students. Only one, Datuk Seri, one school in Johor Bahru."
Hearing Ernie's explanation, Datuk Seri Anwar agreed to establish a special education secondary school in Johor Bahru. In the video, you can see the teacher overwhelmed with emotion as her sincere request to champion the cause of people with disabilities is wholeheartedly accepted.
Within 18 hours, the video went viral on Twitter with most netizens surprised upon hearing the teacher's explanation and expressed sympathy for their plight. Her pure-heartedness is truly admirable, and we hope she receives abundant blessings and rewards for helping these special children.
