A 15-year-old Form Three student from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan St Xavier is undergoing facial surgery at Penang Hospital following a severe motorcycle accident that left him with significant injuries.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 PM on Lebuh Farquhar, near the school premises. The student was riding a Honda Vario motorcycle when he collided with a parked Perodua Myvi, resulting in a brutal facial injury that necessitated immediate medical attention.
Eyewitnesses reported that the impact was severe, splitting the student's face open. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene, and the injured student was transported to Penang Hospital, where he is currently undergoing surgery.
The driver of the Perodua Myvi, a 49-year-old individual, was unharmed in the accident. Authorities have confirmed that the student did not possess a valid driving license. Northeast District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Razlam Ab Hamid, stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
