A bright future was tragically cut short when a 17-year-old student from Batu Pahat, Johor, passed away this morning (December 5) after falling into a coma just a day before she was scheduled to sit for her Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM ) examinations.
The student, a straight-A achiever and the only daughter in her family had complained of a severe headache two days prior. She fainted shortly after and was rushed to a clinic for immediate aid before being transferred to a hospital for advanced treatment.
According to Johor State Health and Environment Committee Chairman, Ling Tian Soon, doctors determined that the girl had suffered from blood stasis caused by a burst blood vessel in her brain. This led to her comatose state.
"She was in a coma when admitted to the hospital. Her teachers and classmates visited her over the past two days, hoping for her recovery," Ling shared. "Tragically, her condition worsened, and she succumbed to her injuries at approximately 9:40 am today."
The news has devastated her family, who described her as diligent and hardworking, dedicating herself to preparing for the crucial SPM exams. Her parents, deeply heartbroken, remained by her side throughout her hospital stay.
Teachers and classmates have also expressed their grief, remembering the young girl as a role model who inspired others with her perseverance and dedication.
