The bushfires that are happening in Australia has caught attention from people and environment organization all around the world. The only way that outsiders can help is by fundraising to build shelters for animals who lost their home, help people affected by the fires and to support the rescuers...
BUT we can also try our best to be more Eco-Friendly to preserve the environment and reduce unnecessary pollution.
These are the ways to be more Eco-Friendly!
1 & 2. Check on yourself & Reduce Single-Use Plastics
Take some time to realize the amount of unnecessary waste you are creating. For example:
- Plastic cutlery you get from a food delivery or takeaway (bring a set of reusable cutlery everywhere you go)
- Plastic bags you get when you shop at a grocery store (bring along reusable bags whenever you go grocery shopping)
- Plastic cups and straws when you order a boba tea (use metal straws)
After checking on yourself, you can be more aware of the usage of plastics.
3. Reduce the consumption of meat
Animals raised to become our "food" created a high percentage of greenhouse gas emissions. The percentage can be reduced by reducing the meat consumption, you don't have to be completely vegan! You can start by having a meatless day in a week :D
4. Sustainable Fashion
You can try thrifting or buying second-hand items. You might find some good quality clothing at a much cheaper price.
Reduce the number of times buying from a fast-fashion brand as it is not doing good for our planet.
5. Consume less
Every time you are going to purchase something, think again! Do you really need this? Probably don't. Just be a little bit more cautious about the things we are buying, that's all!
Our Mother Earth is crying for help. There're so many things that we could do to save our planet, so why not?
