According to Sinchew, following the guidance of the emergency hotline dispatcher, he performed CPR to the police officers. He was traveling home from work on the bus and witnessed the police officer dropped down. He saved the police officer's life and the two became friends.

On May 5, Canty won the Euromillions lottery, a prize of £ 1 million (approximately RM5.22 million). According to BBC, The police officer who has recovered said, "good karma happens to good people"

Canty once thought that he only won 100,000 pounds in prize money. He did not believe that he would become a millionaire. He will continue to work at his job as he is proud of what he does.

He plans to take his daughter to Disneyland to play in the future, and would also consider moving to a new house and invest the money wisely.
