Based on an official announcement by PM Muhyiddin, it has been confirmed that Malaysia will be undergoing it's third Movement Control Order, beginning from 12th of May right up till the 7th of June.
Some of the SOPs which will be implemented during this period of time are:
1. NO interstate or interdistrict travel unless in emergencies of health, work, vaccination appointments, or long-distance spouses.
2. ALL social gatherings including weddings, seminars, and meetings are strictly prohibited.
3. Sporting activities are to be banned except for those in open areas, i.e. jogging, cycling with social distancing measures.
4. ALL educational institutions are to be closed down (exceptions to students sitting for international exams).
5. Kindergartens and nurseries will be allowed to operate following strict SOPs.
6. Only 3 people are allowed in a car including the driver (e-hailing and taxi services as well).
7. Dine-in at restaurants are NOT allowed.
8. Employers are required to implement WORK FROM HOME (only 30% of employees to be present in the office).
9. Home and graveyard visitations are NOT allowed during Eid festivities.
10. Non-muslim worship centres will be allowed to operate under stricter SOPs.
Specific rules for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will be announced at the soonest, and all economic sectors will also be allowed to operate.
