I have always had a love hate relationship with mouthwash. It because some days when I use it, my mouth feels fresh and I feel awake, but some days it just burns my tongue and mouth making me feel a lot of pain. I’m sure many of you can relate.
Up until recently, many of us only saw mouthwash as a way to boost our overall dental health but mouth wash can actually be used for other things too.
Here are some unusual ways you can use mouthwash:

1. Smooth rough feet
If you are suffering with cracked dry heels that make your feet rough, then mouthwash can actually help smooth your feet. Pour equal parts of mouthwash and water into a pail and soak your feet in it for 15 minutes.
The mouthwash gently exfoliates your skin, treating the cracked heel and making your feet smoother.
2. Deodorant
Since mouthwash helps to fight odour causing bacteria in your mouth, it can do the same for your pits!
Apply some mouthwash to your underarms using a piece of tissue and tadaa it works exactly like deodorant. It keeps you pits smelling fresh throughout the day.
3. Treat dandruff
Most mouthwash contains antiseptics. This will help to get rid of dandruff, dry or itchy scalp effectively.
After shampooing your hair, section your hair and use a cotton pad to apply some mouthwash on your scalp. Leave it in for around 10 minutes then wash it off with water. Repeat a few times a week to see improvements.

1. Laundry Sanitizer
Using mouthwash when washing your clothes in the washing machine will kill germs in your dirty clothes, disinfect your machine and also get rid of the mildew smell from towels and blankets.
2. Clean minor cuts and scrapes
Let’s say you fell down and have a little scrape on your knee but don’t have any disinfectant to clean up the scratch. Well, before discovering its mouth cleaning properties, mouthwash was used as a surgical antiseptic.
Just use a cotton pad to absorb some mouthwash then dab it on your cut, it will kill all the germs and prevent any infections immediately.
You can also use it for bug bites to prevent itching and swelling.
3. Toothbrush cleaner
Have you ever seen that article about how you might be brushing your teeth with poop? Well according to that article, it is because when you flush the toilet, the water can splash onto your toothbrush. Euww disgusting right?
Well, mouthwash saves the day again. You can actually use it to disinfect your toothbrush. Dip them in a small cup of mouthwash and leave submerged for 10 minutes. Give it a good rinse and now you won’t be brushing your teeth with poop anymore!
