Two cows were seen on the highway on Aidiladha, the day when cows are sacrificed to honour Prophet Ibrahim's readiness to sacrifice his child in devotion to God. It is believed that the cows were trying to flee.
Road users spotted two cows roaming on the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) Tuesday morning, June 16, in an unusual incident.
The two creatures are shown in a number of internet videos and pictures sprinting along the highway near Kelana Jaya in the direction of Puchong, disrupting the other cars.
A car driver captured two cows crossing a busy traffic lane in a 14-second footage clip.
Further disruptions were caused when a vehicle collided with the cows that were crossing the road barrier, according to a Facebook post.
Unfortunately, after hitting one of the cows, a Perodua Myvi vehicle apparently only had minimal damage.
Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Jaafar, the chief of police in Petaling Jaya District, told Harian Metro that no police complaints about the event had been submitted.
He said that his team is looking into the situation to find out if the cows were sacrificial animals for the Aidiladha festival or if their owner had let them escape.
To help ensure road safety and stop any disruptions, the authorities are asking the public to report any similar events while the inquiry is ongoing.
