On the night of September 11, 2024, the Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand, experienced devastating flash floods. Torrential rain caused rivers to overflow, sending powerful currents surging through the area and trapping numerous residents in their homes. In response to this emergency, rescuers quickly launched a brave and coordinated rescue operation.

One of the most dramatic moments of the rescue involved the successful evacuation of a 3-month-old baby girl, who was trapped with her family. Rescuers prioritized the infant's safety, navigating treacherous conditions to reach her and the other civilians in danger. In total, ten households were trapped by the rising floodwaters, requiring urgent action to save them.

Despite the severe conditions, with rescue teams forced to wade through mud for approximately 2-3 kilometers to reach those stranded, they persevered. The rescuers battled against strong currents, unstable terrain, and poor visibility, all while carrying essential equipment to assist in the evacuation. Their determination and coordination ensured that every resident was safely brought to higher ground.

By Thursday, all remaining residents had been successfully evacuated from the danger zones, thanks to the tireless efforts of the rescue teams. The operation not only highlighted the challenges of responding to natural disasters but also showcased the courage and resilience of the rescue personnel who worked relentlessly to save lives.
