Those who used to follow Akademi Fantasia are probably already familiar with the name Dafi. For those who do not know, Dafi is also known as the son of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, who served as Malaysia's ninth prime minister.
The local singer and actor recently expressed his dissatisfaction in the media about how all of his "friends" and job opportunities abruptly vanished after his father was no longer serving as prime minister.
He adds that he still receives the barest minimum of job offers, and occasionally none at all, but he is perplexed as to why some of the ones he had previously accepted were abruptly and inexplicably withdrawn.
Despite this, Dafi is not blaming anyone for the situation; instead, he is just accepting the fact that he is not in luck at all.
He continued by saying that he had many questions, but due to the circumstances, he decided not to ask them and to accept his fate.
"Last year, my schedule was pretty much empty and I had no offers."
The Akademi Fantasia alumni are upset that people don't understand his predicament, which includes the fact that he hasn't been involved in his father's political career from the beginning.
He was horrified to learn that the friends he thought were the real ones had abandoned him.
He goes on to describe how he makes decisions and handles his career on his own. And how he would receive messages on social media throughout the day from people he had not heard from in a very long time when his father was chosen Prime Minister.
Dafi acknowledged that he is not the only person living under his father's care, but he makes an effort to be independent. In fact, he once broke a piggy bank that contained coins in order to sustain himself once.
Moreover, Dafi emphasised that he had never leveraged his father's status for personal advantage and revealed that even he had to utilise his own money to make ends meet while he was waiting for job offers.
