Everyone knows that banknotes are very dirty because they may harbour a large number of microbes, but without witnessing it with the naked eye, nobody knows just how dirty they can be!
Earlier, a video was uploaded to a Facebook page, showing a cafeteria staff member in Malaysia "cuci duit" (washing banknotes) and the change in that basin of water terrified many people. The person filming the video pointed out that this cafeteria staff member took the banknotes received from selling food and washed them.
From the video, it can be seen that the cafeteria staff placed a pile of RM1 and RM10 notes into a large container and brought it to a sink to wash with water.
Despite the presence of a considerable amount of water in the container, the water had already been "contaminated" and turned brownish.
Afterward, the staff member moved the paper notes to a basket, and then used a piece of cloth to pat them dry one by one before placing them into a clean metal tray.
As amusing as you might find this gesture, in the video, the person filming the video then jokingly states that the banknotes are now "clean, washed and halal."
Will you wash your banknotes after witnessing this? Tell us in the comments.
