The Unneighbourly Neighbour
Urban living has distanced us, causing us to lose the camaraderie and good rapport with our neighbours.
Some people are such good people that being neighbours with them makes you feel like being with family
On the contrary, there are neighbours from hell who make you wish they would just move elsewhere and bring their nonsensical behaviour with them.
Can you spot these among your neighbours?
#1 The neighbour who walks his dog and makes sure it poops and pees anywhere but near his own house, whether in front or at the back.
And his favourite spot seems to be just right outside your back door. The extreme one will even train his mutt to aim directly at your potted plants placed outside your house just to satisfy his sadistic desires. His reasoning is stray animals poop and pee everywhere too, so why not his pets? It makes you wonder if the owner does the same too occasionally!
#2The neighbour who keeps his affairs very private but likes to pry into other people’s matters.
Whenever there is a commotion in your house, you just know that they are pressing their ears against the wall or pretending to come out to tidy their compound or sweep their yard just to know what’s going on. But if it’s happening in their own homes, they will just make sure everything is very low profile. How busybody can one get?
#3 The neighbour who only keeps his house and compound clean but ignores the cleanliness of the neighbourhood.
He will wash his yard every morning but will throw his rubbish into other people’s drains or any vacant house compound nearby. Makes you wonder why he cannot just dispose of his rubbish in his own rubbish bin allocated for his house. Well, we will never be able to understand these weirdos, will we?
#4 The neighbour who cares only for his own well-being but not about others.
When there is a leakage from a toilet pipe he is not willing to carry out any repairs because he says he is not staying in the house and he doesn’t know the condition of the house. Oh, my this is just getting weirder, ya?
#5 The neighbour who keeps 3 dogs, one big fierce one is kept as a guard dog, two small ones as prized possessions.
Now the guard dog is most of the time chained to the railing of the fence with a leash long enough for it to attack anybody who comes in. So it is rather restless and barks at anybody it sees, except the owner and family, of course. When it barks, the other two will join in like a chorus making such a din that you can’t hear what is on tv or ur own conversation. And the owner never hushes them up. It seems like they actually enjoy listening to the noise or is partially deaf.
#6 The neighbour who likes to park his car very near to your entrance so much so that it is difficult for you to drive into your own house.
He also does not like to park his vehicle in his porch, preferring to keep the porch spacious. Thus he will jostle for parking space with others who have no more space to park their cars.
Well, any of these types among your neighbours? You cannot be ‘luckier’ than me because all the above are the traits of my next-door neighbour! How ‘lucky’ can one get, ya?
