Due to COVID-19 this year, Muslims must celebrate Eid al-Fitr under a Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO). Some Muslims responded to the government’s call to abide by the social distance and some of them even posted a notice declining visitors outside their homes.
According to a report from Bernama, Tarmiji Jam-Jam (67-year-old) from Taiping, Perak decided to spend Eid al-Fitr with his wife Siti Maimunah Kadiron (71 years old) who has suffered from high blood pressure since 2010. Therefore, he posted a notice in front of his house on May 21.
He added that it was not because they don't want to receive visits, but he wants to protect his wife more and they have a higher chance of being infected because of their seniority. Besides, he could not entertain a large number of visitors as the space in his home was limited

Tarmiji Jam-Jam stated that he still distribute Duit Raya to children from the fence. He added that he felt a little sad when he can't celebrate with children this year. "I have 3 children, the youngest should have come back with us. We also want to cook Nasi Impit, Rendang chicken, and Lemang. We also bought pastries and beef, but this year we would not cook beef Rendang Tok," he said.
He revealed that he told his children not to feel sad and worried about not being able to celebrate Eid al-Fitr this year because the most important thing is that their family is safe and sound.
His youngest son, Eirma Rohayu (29 years old) is currently living in Klang, Selangor. During the interview, Eirma stated that he would celebrate Eid al-Fitr at his father-in-law's home in Telok Panglima Garang, Selangor even if he and his family should have returned to Taiping to celebrate Eid al-Fitr this year. This is because of the ban on crossing the state.
Eirma said that he has not been home since the Chinese New Year holiday. He often makes video calls with his parents through WhatsApp to talk about his feelings of missing.
