Whether it is an engagement ring, a wedding ring, a promise ring or maybe even just a normal ring – I mean who says you can only wear rings if you are taken – it is always difficult to choose the right ring that will not make your fingers look weird.
I don’t know if it Is just insecurity or if it is actually real, my fingers always look weird when I wear rings.
If you face the same problem as me, it is probably not because you have weird looking fingers, it is actually because you and me too, are not wearing the right type of ring for your finger type.
Before we begin, here are examples of stone shapes and ring settings that you can refer to:
1. Stone Shapes:
2. Ring Setting
Here’s an ultimate guide to picking the right rings for your perfect fingers:
1. Petite fingers
Petite fingers mean that you have small, thin fingers.
Here’s what we recommend:
+ anything with smaller stones or understated designs
+ stone shapes: Round Brilliant, Cushion or Princess Cut
+ ring setting: prong setting or pavé setting
+ opt for a narrow band
+ avoid extravagant or overloaded designs
2. Short fingers
If you have short fingers, you want to make them look longer.
Here’s what we recommend:
+ stone shapes: Oval, Pear Shape or Marquise
+ opt for a narrow band
+ ring setting: Solitaire or halo settings
+ the orientation of the gemstone should be vertical
+ avoid – wide bands, horizontally set stones and a lot of coverage.
3. Chubby fingers
If you have chubby fingers, you want rings that make them appear slimmer, and also have an elongating effect on your hands.
Here’s what we recommend:
+ find a ring with a larger stone
+ opt for a thicker band
+ ring setting: 3 stone, filigree, micro pavé setting
+ stone shape: Oval, Marquise, Emerald, or Pear
+ avoid – very thin bands, narrow ring designs
4. Long Fingers
Long fingers = freedom. You can more or less choose any types of rings, diamonds, and bands.
Here’s what we recommend:
+ stone shape: Round, Emerald or Cushion
+ average to wide bands according to your taste
+ a horizontal orientation would be a good balance
+ ring setting: tension
+ avoid – very thin bands, vertically set thin stones
