At a recent award show 'Unforgettable Gala', which is an annual Asian American Award extravagant that honors the API community, the cast of Netflix's trademark series were the talk of the night!
During many red carpet interviews held, you can see the cast from popular Netflix shows such as 'XO, Kitty', 'Never Have I Ever', 'Nobody Wants This', and more.
In one specific interview by @apopofficial, the interview asks the stars "What's an Asian dish, you can't live without?"
Anna Cathcart from XO, Kitty says her mum's dumplings, whereas Gia Kim says Doenjang-jjigae.
However, the one that caught the eye of netizens is Maitreyi Ramakrishnan from 'Never Have I Ever'. She first says 'parippu' which is a lentil curry that is most definitely her comfort food.
Maitreyi then goes on to say that if she has to choose a dish that is not a Tamil food, it would have to be 'Laksa'!
"I'm going to go with Laksa. Put Malaysia on the map!"
Netizens immediately flood the comments, completely surprised by her answer!
Many agreeing of course, cause Laksa really is THAT dish.
However, many are also pleasantly shocked that Maitreyi knows of the local dish and, her cool shoutout to Malaysia itself.
