Japan has officially announced a state of emergency in most parts of the country and people are advised to refrain from going out or traveling outside of the prefecture. However, there are some who just can’t help themselves but breach the rules.

A stubborn construction company employee in Yamagata Prefecture decided to just ignore the seriousness of the situation and went all the way over the border to a job site in Miyagi Prefecture on his day off, despite being told to stay home from work to prevent the spread of infection.

His 46-year-old manager who found out about his refusal to follow safety instructions, “issued an on-site reprimanded to the younger employee... by punching him in the face and striking him in the head,” according to Japan Today.

Some of us might find what the manager did understandable, or even commendable, but not the police. Unfortunately for the manager, he was still arrested for the assault.

Well, we would never have thought that being a hardworking employee might end up getting hit by the manager, had it not because of the COVID-19 outbreak. But since it’s for safety reasons, when your boss tells you to stay at home, then you stay at home la!
