Think only scientists and presidents got to have landmarks or places engraved with their names? Well, the luxury world isn't one to miss the boat either! Some of world's famous personas are (and were) significant enough to have iconic bags named after them. These bags have achieved cult status, amassing throngs of fanatics coveting to own even at least one (nevermind the exorbitant price tag). Facts 101, shall we?

Hermes Birkin

Named after- Jane Birkin

Who would've thought that an idea illustrated on a plane's sickness bag would lead to the birth of the most expensive bag known to mankind? Actress/songstress/ style icon, Jane Birkin's fateful plane encounter with Hermes' then-chairman, Jean-Louis Dumas paved the way for a practical yet chic bag made for modern women. The rest is history.

Hermes Kelly

Named after- Grace Kelly

The bag was shot to worldwide fame after being photographed on the arms of the late Grace Kelly, an American starlet turned Monaco princess. Thanks to the bag's strategic positioning on Grace's abdomen that was believed to conceal her pregnancy, the bag gained status symbol and was later renamed to the Kelly.

Chanel Diana

Named after- Princess Diana

It seems that the fashion world couldn't get enough of its adoration towards the late Princess Diana that Chanel too honored the royal with a namesake bag called the Diana flap. Classic and timeless, the bag was one of Diana's go-to-bags for royal engagements.
