As we Malaysians know, after passing our driving test, we will be given our P license which is valid for 2 years and withing this period it is also mandatory for us to display the P sticker on our cars for the same period of time.
Most recently, a Facebook user Takeshi Kaneshiro uploaded a screenshot featuring P stickers with the JPJ logo being sold on the Taobao site. Through the screenshot, it can be seen that the P sticker is sold at a price of USD4.49 (RM18.77) a piece.
According to the netizens in the comment section, the interest in the sticker is probably similar to Malaysian’s interest in Japan’s JDM sticker.
In Japan, there is a yellow-green P sticker called wakaba or shoshinsha which means the driver is still on probation, similar to what the Malaysian P sticker means.
Most of the netixens in the comments section found it funny and are hilariously making fun of it and laughing about the whole situation.
Some have reasonable explanations like:
"Just like us in Malaysia, many use JDM stickers on their cars," said Eliot Wan.
Ly Chalyn on the other hand thinks that the Chinese are confused and think that the P sticker is Malaysia’s version of Japan’s JDM sticker.
