Two images depicting frog-shaped meat being sold at a supermarket in Selayang went viral on social media.
According to a Facebook user, the incident allegedly occurred on Tuesday, as evidenced by the shared photos where the frog meat was displayed alongside other seafood items. This mixture of non-halal and halal food items raised concerns among users, prompting a warning to be cautious while shopping at the particular supermarket.
The management of the supermarket was reportedly notified, and the issue was addressed. Furthermore, a complaint was lodged with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN) for further investigation.
Netizens expressed their worries in the comments, fearing that some might mistake the frog meat for quail. For those unaware, in Islamic teachings, the consumption of frogs is forbidden, and certain people find them unappetizing due to their dual nature.
