Most employees think that they deserve a higher salary after they have worked in a company for a long period of time, or they often working overtime.

In fact, this is not the case. If you maintain the following 5 working attitudes, your salary is more likely to be increased by your employer.

1. Always Have A Growing Mindset

You can enroll in courses that are related to your own interests to enhance your value.

Remember the more value you have, the higher chance your salary will be increased.

Continuous learning can also show the boss that you have a growth mindset that you are willing to learn and take up new challenges.

2. Positive Work Attitude

To impress your boss further, you must always keep a positive attitude towards any challenges that you face at work, and solve them diligently. Believe it or not, these are the things that your bosses will always keep an eye on, as this quality could be not easy to find among all the employees.

Besides, if you have any ideas or proposal that would benefit the company, bring it up to your superiors when you have the chance. This is a good chance to show that you are thinking about the company, and have the ability to come out with plans that would help the company. This is also a quality that bosses would consider, when it comes to performance reviews.

3. Maintain A Respectful Attitude

Even if you have received an offer from another company, it does not mean that you can use it as a bargaining chip in salary negotiations. Using this trick will only make your boss question your loyalty, losing confidence in you.

If you have a good relationship with your boss, you can euphemistically tell your boss the other company’s conditions and try to make adjustments with him/her to see if the career path in the company is what you are looking for.

4. Choose The Right Time

Be sure to make an appointment in advance, and don't rush to ask your boss for a raise. Otherwise, it will only make you look unprepared and lack of plan.

Be confident, positive, and express your thoughts politely. First express your love for your work, resonate with your boss, and then tell your boss about your values and explore if there is a chance for salary increment. If your have the value to the company, it will be easier for you to ask for increment.
