Children Aged 12 to 17 Able To Walk In For Covid-19 Jabs Starting 23rd October

After long periods of uncertainty, the Health Ministry announced that children aged 12 to 17 nationwide can finally receive their Covid-19 vaccination jabs starting 23rd October.

Parents shall receive the appointment details from their children's schools— all they need to do is walk into the nearest PPV.

“Those in schools who have appointments for their vaccination from their schools must make sure they keep the appointment and are not allowed to walk-in to any integrated or public PPV,” Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said in a statement. Only one parent will be allowed to accompany their child, to avoid congestion at PPV centres.

Prior to the vaccinations, parents are advised to make sure the children do not run on an empty stomach and to drink lots of water.  monitor their child. Parents are also told to make sure the children do not overexert themselves for at least a week after vaccination.
