Vaseline - small but mighty.
Apart from benefitting people with dry skin, do you know Vaseline is more than just a saviour for chap lips?
1. HAIR TAMER
Frizzy hair? Split ends? Use Vaseline. It helps to lock the moisture in your hair. Scoop pea-size amount of Vaseline into your palms. Rub the Vaseline onto the roots then smooth it down to your hair ends. Wrap your head with a towel and let the Vaseline hair treatment "stew" for 15 minutes. Shampoo the Vaseline out of your hair as per your normal hair wash routine.
2. MANICURE HACK
Prior to applying nail polish, with a Q-tip, line your cuticles with a thin layer of Vaseline. This prevents the nail polish from sticking on your cuticle. Also, it makes cleaning up easier after you're done with your manicure. Note: Don't get Vaseline on your nails though, as the nail polish won't apply evenly.
3. CUSTOMISE YOUR COSMETICS
You can create your own customised cosmetics by mixing the loose pigments with jelly to create eyeshadow, blush or even tinted balm. Vaseline is non-comedogenic so it's pretty safe for all skin types however do note that it may clog pores.
4. LASH CARE
While Vaseline can't help your lashes grow, it can on the other hand, gives it a fuller, healthier appearance. Wash your eyelids and lashes to ensure they're clean. With a Q-tip, apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the upper and lower lash lines. Do note ONLY a little amount of Vaseline is required! Then, gently, with the other clean end of the same Q-tip, apply a tiny bit of Vaseline onto your lashes until they're lightly coated. Blink while you're applying as it helps to distribute the Vaseline throughout each lashes. Leave on for 5 minutes and gently wipe away with warm towel.
5. MAKEUP REMOVER
Vaseline is an inexpensive yet effective makeup remover. Due to its petroleum nature, it works magically on all types of makeup. Not to mention, it is safe to use around eye areas. It is light and lubricated, hence, makeup "slides" right off without harming the skin. Vaseline also works especially well in removing waterproof mascara.
6. EAR AND JEWELLERY CARE
Sensitive ears? We've got you! Apply a small amount of Vaseline onto your ear studs, ear rings etc before sliding them in. This allows you to put them on without much fuss. It also acts as a healing agent including after lasers and skin biopsies!
As you can see, Vaseline is a very handy household item.
