A merchant suffered losses amounting to RM100,000 after being robbed by two armed men wielding a knife in an incident that occurred in the city center of Miri last Saturday.
District Police Chief of Miri ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed in a statement released last night that they had received a police report regarding the incident.
The incident, which occurred around 8:30 AM on June 15th, saw the 29-year-old victim approached by two unknown men armed with a knife and wearing masks.
"One of the suspects holding a knife seized a gold chain from the victim's neck before fleeing in a car," he said.
"Although the victim did not suffer any injuries during the incident, he suffered a loss of RM100,000 due to the robbery of his gold chain," he added.
According to Alexson, no arrests have been made in connection with the case yet, and they are currently working to track down the two criminals involved.
