Several days after the devastating gas explosion in Putra Heights, residents were finally allowed to return to their homes only to be met with scenes of destruction and loss. While safety inspections deemed some of the houses structurally sound enough to re-enter, many homes were left almost unrecognizable.

In a viral video shared by Xiaohongshu user 好奇宝宝, the true extent of the damage was revealed. The incident reportedly took place in the elevated area of Bukit Putra, where one family returned to a home that had been ravaged by fire and the force of the explosion.

The video, now circulating widely online, showed a once-lively household reduced to wreckage. The garden was torn apart, walls were blackened and scorched, and furniture inside the home had melted or been reduced to ashes. Air conditioning units had twisted under the heat, shoes were completely burnt, and dining tables and chairs had been reduced to skeletal remains.

The blast was so powerful it shattered windows and melted parts of the roof, which had collapsed in certain areas. Adding to the chaos, the house was left without power, and a burst pipe had flooded parts of the interior, worsening the destruction.

Amid the wreckage, the homeowner was seen trying to salvage what they could, sweeping through broken glass and debris. According to the caption in the video, the individual and their baby had managed to escape the home just before the explosion occurred a stroke of luck in an otherwise traumatic experience.

"Watching your beloved home become unrecognizable in just a few hours is absolutely heartbreaking," the user wrote, a sentiment that resonated with many viewers.
