A man in Kemahang Hulu, Benta, Lipis, murdered his elderly parents in the middle of the night— all due to some religion-related dispute.
Mohammad Maasai, 68, dan his wife, Zailan Zainudin, 64, were found dead within their home with multiple slash marks. The suspect was later apprehended by nearby residents about 150 metres from the crime scene, and he was found without clothes and covered in blood.
According to Lipis District Police Chief, Superintendent Azly Mohd Noor, the initial investigation reveals that a machete was used as the murder weapon. The incident is believed to have occurred around 10:30 PM when the victims and the suspect were suddenly involved in an intense quarrel relating to religion.
