In a recent incident at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) 1 Utama in Petaling Jaya, moviegoers were left startled and frustrated when they were asked to evacuate the cinema hall due to the activation of the fire alarm.
The disruption occurred during the screening of Disney's highly-anticipated live-action movie, "The Little Mermaid."
Moviegoers were eagerly enjoying the film when the fire alarm abruptly went off.

Although there was no actual fire, the alarm caused panic among the viewers who were unaware of the reason behind the evacuation.
It was later discovered that the fire alarm had been triggered by someone who had been vaping inside the cinema hall.
A video of the incident was posted on Twitter by user @amofficialmy, capturing the moment the alarm sounded. According to the tweet, the incident occurred at GSC 1 Utama.

The movie had only been playing for about 10 minutes when the alarm interrupted the screening.
Following the emergency procedure, all the cinema attendees were promptly evacuated from the hall. Once the management identified the cause of the alarm, the audience was allowed to reenter.
@amofficialmy mentioned that the management had caught the individual responsible for vaping inside the cinema hall through CCTV footage. However, no further information was provided regarding the consequences faced by the culprit.
